November 15th 2007 I've started a blog on Vox to talk about Bloodmyth and other film projects. I'll put any Bloodmyth news here. November 4th 2007 It's been far too long since I last updated. This year I've been through all kinds of distribution disappointments. Then I went to the Power to the Pixel forum on digital distribution and came away inspired. The key to distributing a very low budget indie film isn't finding a distributor or sales agent, it's using the net to track down people who will like the film and then getting the film to them. July 28th 2006 Keith Eyles is coming down from London tonight to redo some of his lines. (There's a scene we had to shoot when there was a loud party going on nearby and it's supposed to be out in the woods). I'm learning a lot about sound editing at the moment - mostly how little I know about it. I hope I can get a fairly slick edit ready in time for the test run. July 16, 2006 Bloodmyth test screening. There will be a test screening of Bloodmyth at The Chambers, Cheriton Place, Folkestone, CT20 2BB on August 7 at 8pm.
I'm trying to get provisional effects and music tracks edited at the moment on my laptop after several leads on sound studios went nowhere. I'm also tweaking the edit and doing some grading. I cut around most of the issues that called for compositing. It's amazing how much work can be saved just by chopping out a few frames here and there. May 11th, 2006 At the Guerilla Filmmakers Movie Handbook 3rd edition launch I managed to approach a UK distributor with the trailer. He liked the trailer and wants to see trhe feature when it's ready. April 3, 2006 I'm currently between an almost fine cut of Bloodmyth and the late stages of postproduction. In the next month or two we have to get ADR, sound, music, grading and some digital compositing done. I've cut a first trailer for Bloodmyth so now I can start looking at implementing my probably ridiculously naive strategy for selling it to a distributor. |
